Scrapz Biz Noteworthy Week 16

Here is my take on this week's challenge.

We had to make a tri-fold gate card.

I turned mine into a little forest scene.

I have used my new stamp set by American Crafts "Laughter" and Sassafrass Lass patterned papers.

Lots of fun and lots of different ideas that you could use to create different cards.
When I was cutting the clouds from the Sassafrass Lass pp, I noticed this gorgeous little elephant near the cloud. I couldn't resist writing "who said elephants can't fly? LOL!!!"........too funny.

Scrapz Biz Noteworthy Weekly Challenge

There is ALWAYS something goin on over at Scrapz Biz. I am having an absolute ball.

I entered this card for the "Notworthy Weekly Challenge" we had to create a card for a loved one - someone we wouldn't normally send a card to.

So here it is. I don't know where it was that I was looking last week, but someone created a layout using some fluff as a cloud so I thought I'd give that a go.

I used an old page from a book again (bit partial to them lately), a gorgeous green trim, little chipboard tree and some other bits and pieces.

(I found out yesterday that I actually one a prize for this card - whacko!!!!)

Thanks for looking.

Last uploads for Scrapz Biz “Scrapz Amour” challenge

Well I finally finished ALL 10 challenges for the Scrapz Biz challenge.

We had 10 days of different challenges all to do with stamping – my fave things.

Day 5’s challenge was to make a little acetate box.  I created this one for Sean for our Anniversary coming up in April.  I have filled it with red hearts just so you can see what it looks like, however, his fave choccies are cherry liquers so I will swap them over closer to the time. (I might just have to eat the hearts myself…….LOL)

To keep in with the theme of cherries I stamped a little cherry stamp with red and black StazOn ink and then added some little Kaiser pearls to the red cherries for something different.  I also made a little heart punch label for the top of the box and added some sticky alphas and some of the gorgeous cherry ribbon to match.

The next challenge that I completed was challenge 7 – the challenge was to use a heart box template and decorate it.

This was lots and lots of fun.  I could see this box being used for lots and lots of different ideas – birthdays, gifts and Chrissie presents.  Too cute.

For my design I chose an old page from the book “Little Women” and cut it down a little to fit just inside the front edge of the box.  I then stamped it with a swirl stamp and green ink.  I used one of my Handmade Daisies and some other blossoms with buttons and brads.

I also used a length of jute for the handle and attached the jute to the sides using some old rustic wooden buttons.

There you go.

Challenge 9 was next for me.  The challenge – stamp on fabric.

So I used my angel stamp by FernGully Stamps and Timber Brown StazOn ink.  I then used watercolour paint of all things to colour it in but you know what – it worked……….LOL.  I then added the finished product to some gorgeous cream/pink gingham patterned paper and doodled a stitched border around the outside of the card. I finished it off by adding a little clothes line using jute and some cute little pegs.

Challenge 10 was to use up bits and pieces of scrap patterned paper to create some quick cards. And quick there were. All I did was cut out some cute die cut shapes form a sheet of Bo Bunny patterned paper and added ribbon, brads, buttons and stamps of course.

So there we are – ALL ten challenges complete.  I can’t believe I did it.  It was so much fun.

Thanks for popping in.

Right - this challenge called for using our background stamps to create a card.

I used French Script background stamp by StampinUp and then I used a stamp set by Grace Taylor - the butterfly, the green branch and the flowers.

I then just added little alphas and a bit of trim.
Oh I forgot to add this is for the comp going on over at Scrapz Biz.

Scrapz Amout Challenge 6 - Diecuts/Journalling Tag - Scrapz Biz

Ok so for this card I used a gorgeous little diecut from BoBunny. Isn't that deer just the cutest little thing? We also had to use ribbon and buttons. So I added the gorgeous scribble ribbon and two cute little flower buttons.

I liked the border on the diecut so I doodled the border on the kraft card to match in with that.

Happy (Belated) Valentine's Day

I hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day.
Sean and I were lucky enough to go on a date on Saturday night.
We dropped the kids off at Sean's mum and dad's home and drove off into the city.
We had a little walk along Southbank - plenty of atmosphere with Chinese New Year celebrations going on.
We had a bite to eat - Chinese food and then we went to the movies. We saw "Up In The Air" with George Clooney. I wouldn't say it was a "must see" movie but it was great. Definitely not predictable which is always great.
We then had another walk along Southbank - plenty of buskers about. I couldn't believe how many people were out and about at such a late hour - when we would normally be in bed............LOL!!!!
We then drove up to Lygon Street to enjoy a coffe and cake.
Beautiful night to be walking around too.
We then drove home to an empty house - most unusual.
On Valentines Day we took off to Mass together which was nice and then we headed to the local market where I picked up some beautiful fresh produce.
Then we headed home for lunch. Sean's mum and dad came with the kids - gee it was great to see their faces again. It was so nice to have time to ourselves but we are so used to having the kids around. Sean's brother, sister-in-law and son also dropped in for lunch.
We all then just spent the afternoon doing what we wanted -nothing basically!!!!! LOL!!!!!
Hope you had a good one.

You can see the details here

http://www.fatcatscrappin.blogspot.com/

So I created a very simple card using the packaging from a Cuttlebug embossing folder, gorgeous red ribbon with hearts, pin and beads and some tiny red buttons in the corner.  The sentiment was created using stickers that I found at Spotlight.

Thanks for looking.

Hope all is well in your part of the world.

Miracle!!!!

I have just finished watching the most amazing story.

The seperation of these conjoined twins from Bangaldesh.

The surgery was undertaken late in 2009 and there was a special on Channel 7 tonight. Did anyone else manage to watch it????

http://www.news.com.au/national/surgery-successful-on-twins-trishna-krishna/story-e6frfkvr-1225798441704

They are two special little gifts and their carer, Moira, is an amazing woman.

Scrapz Amour Day 4

Day 4 - righto. We had to create a card using the "kissing" technique.

This requires the use of two stamps. What you do is ink up a background or pattern stamp for instance and then use another stamp - which has a solid design.

I used a flower stamp for the solid stamp and then inked up a StampinUp "French Script" stamp and pressed the solid flower stamp directly onto it.

So basically instead of getting the solid impression when stamped - the flower stamp now takes on the pattern of the script stamp. Just gives another option when stamping.
It's fun to see how many different designs you can get just by playing around.

I don't have a lot of solid stamps so I was limited to only a few but if you have some and haven't used them much - give it a go. (A lot of foam stamps have a solid design to work with)

I used a pink/navy combo for this card. I also used my cuttlebug script embossing folder to tie in with the script on the flowers.
(Please excuse the shonky photos - I just couldn't get the right light outside today)

Scrapz Amour Day 3

Right - for day 3 we had to use stamps to help create a cover for a block of chocolate as a gift for our loved ones for Valentines.

I used red cardstock, American Crafts "Romance" pp, ribbon, lace, felt trim, flower, pin, beads, button and the stamps are by HeidiGrace and Grace Taylor oh and those tiny little alpha stickers I seem to be using a lot these days - I think they are cool as!!!!

Luv Sandie

Scrapz Amour Day 2

For day 2 we had to add dimension to our stamped images.

This challenge was not hard for me as I always add double sided foam tape to just about all of my cards. I need to have shares in the ds foam tape company I reckon.........LOL!!!! Seriously!!!!!

So for my card I used Kelly Panacci stamp set - just love this chubby little owl.

Thanks for looking.

Scrapz Amour

There's a new challenge happenen at ScrapzBiz.  It’s running for 10 days and involves my fave things – stamps!!!!!!!!

It's called “Scrapz Amour” and its all about sharing the love.

Our first challenge was to use our stamps (preferably ones that we hadn't touched yet) and to "paper piece" which means stamping the image using different cardstock or patterned paper and piece the image together.

I have used my new HeroArts mushroom stamp, 5 different scraps of patterned paper and some other bits and pieces.

I made this card for a friend who is going through a bit at the moment.

Hope all is well with you.
